Barrack congratulates Syria on “historic accomplishments”

QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) – U.S. Special Presidential Envoy for Syria and Iraq Tom Barrack on Friday congratulated Syria on what he described as a week of “historic accomplishments.”

Barrack made the remarks after meeting Syrian Chargé d’Affaires in Washington Mohammad Qanatri.

“Great meeting with Syrian Chargé d’Affaires Mohammad Qanatri — congratulations on a week of historic accomplishments for Syria,” Barrack said in a post on X.

The remarks came days after the United States removed Syria from its list of state sponsors of terrorism.

On Tuesday, Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) commander-in-chief Mazloum Abdi also announced the end of the SDF’s mission as an independent military force following the completion of its integration into Syrian army brigades, according to SANA.
