UNDOF forces conduct field tour in Syria’s Quneitra

QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) – United Nations Disengagement Observer Force (UNDOF) troops conducted a field tour on Wednesday in al-Rafid town in southern Quneitra countryside to monitor conditions and document recurring Israeli incursions and violations in the border area.

Early Wednesday, Israeli forces carried out a military incursion into Jabata al-Khashab town in northern Quneitra countryside, entering the area with ground forces reinforced by more than 100 personnel and 15 military vehicles.

Local sources told North Press that UNDOF teams listened to residents’ accounts of the risks they face due to Israeli actions and the security tensions they cause across the area.

The sources added that the teams also inspected conditions in the town and surrounding areas and documented the Israeli attacks amid concerns that the moves could lead to a potential Israeli escalation.
