Syria’s anti-narcotics administration says drug shipment bound for Jordan thwarted

QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) — Syria’s anti-narcotics administration said on Wednesday it thwarted an attempt to smuggle a large drug shipment to Jordan from the eastern countryside of Suwayda governorate.

The administration said in a post on its official website that its forces thwarted an attempt to smuggle the shipment to Jordan using balloons in the eastern Suwayda countryside.

The operation resulted in the seizure of 70 kilograms of hashish, 45,000 Captagon pills and several smuggling tools and devices, it said.
