Judges from NE Syria meet Justice Ministry in Damascus for integration talks
QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) – Judges from the Autonomous Administration on Saturday traveled to Damascus to meet officials from Syria’s Ministry of Justice as part of efforts to integrate them into the country’s judicial system.
According to information obtained by North Press, the judges arrived in the Syrian capital several hours earlier for meetings with ministry officials and interviews related to their incorporation into the national judiciary.
The Ministry of Justice is expected to conduct individual interviews with the judges on Sunday as a preliminary step toward appointing them to courts in Hasakah Governorate, northeastern Syria.
The move is widely seen as a potential breakthrough in the long-stalled process of integrating the Autonomous Administration’s judicial institutions into Syria’s national legal framework. Previous attempts at judicial integration have repeatedly faltered, delaying broader efforts to unify state institutions.
Residents of Hasakah are awaiting the reopening of courts and the Palace of Justice in the cities of Hasakah and Qamishli, where legal services have remained suspended, preventing many from completing official legal procedures.
