Israeli forces set up temporary checkpoint in Syria’s Quneitra

QUNEITRA, Syria (North Press) – Three Israeli military vehicles advanced on Wednesday toward the road connecting the villages of Sayda al-Golan and al-Muqriz in the southern countryside of Quneitra, southern Syria, where troops established a temporary checkpoint.

Local sources told North Press that approximately 15 Israeli soldiers deployed around the checkpoint and stopped several buses and civilian vehicles traveling along the road for inspection.

The troops reportedly searched vehicles and checked the identification documents of passengers and drivers. No arrests had been reported at the time of publication.

Sources added that the checkpoint remained in place as of the time this report was being prepared.

The latest move comes amid repeated Israeli military incursions and security operations in southern Quneitra, which have heightened concerns among local residents in recent months.
