QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) – Two members of the Syrian army were killed on Monday and several others injured after unidentified gunmen targeted a military transport bus in the western countryside of Hasakah, according to Syria’s Ministry of Defense and local media reports.
The Syrian Defense Ministry’s Media and Communication Administration announced in a statement that “two Syrian army members were martyred and several others were injured” in the attack.
Local media outlets reported that the military bus, carrying personnel from the Syrian army’s 64th Division, came under attack in an armed ambush on the Hasakah–Ras al-Ain road, west of the al-Aliyah silos area.
Initial reports from local media indicated that the death toll may have risen to three army members following the attack.
No group has claimed responsibility for the incident, and Syrian authorities have not released further details regarding the circumstances of the attack or the condition of the injured.
