Israeli forces set up checkpoints in Quneitra countryside

QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) – Israeli forces advanced on Tuesday into the countryside of Quneitra governorate in southern Syria, establishing checkpoints in several locations, according to local sources.

Sources told North Press that an Israeli military patrol raided a house in the village of al-Samadaniya al-Sharqiya, where troops later set up a checkpoint inside the village. Soldiers reportedly conducted thorough searches of civilians and checked identification documents.

The same sources added that Israeli forces also erected a temporary checkpoint at the junction of the Jabatha al-Khashab quarries in northern Quneitra countryside. Four military vehicles were positioned at the site, where troops monitored traffic and searched vehicles traveling along roads connecting border villages.

The deployment comes amid ongoing tensions along the Syrian-Israeli frontier, where intermittent incursions and military activities have been reported in recent months.
