Five-story building collapses in Aleppo’s al-Ashrafiyah neighborhood

QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) – A five-story residential building collapsed on Friday morning in the al-Ashrafiyah neighborhood of Aleppo city, northern Syria, raising fears of individuals trapped under the rubble.

The Syrian Civil Defense stated in a statement published on Telegram that initial information received with the report indicates the possibility of families trapped inside the collapsed building.

The Civil Defense explained that rescue teams immediately headed to the incident site, accompanied by heavy machinery and specialized search teams, including a K9 dog team, to assist in rubble clearance operations.

Teams also evacuated neighboring buildings as a precautionary measure, in anticipation of additional collapses that could threaten residents’ safety.

Rescue teams from the Ministry of Emergency and Disaster Management continue search and rescue operations at the site, attempting to reach those trapped under the debris. No official statement has been issued regarding the cause of the collapse or the number of individuals missing.
