Joint security delegation visits Afrin to coordinate return of displaced residents

QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) – A joint delegation from the Syrian Internal Security forces and the Asayish security units arrived on Sunday in the city of Afrin in Aleppo countryside to coordinate the return of displaced residents to their original homes.

The delegation included Brigadier General Marwan al-Ali, commander of the Internal Security forces in Hasakah province, Asayish official Mahmoud Khalil, Aleppo province Internal Security commander Mohamed Abdel Ghani, and provincial security officer Suraqa Amouri.

According to sources within the delegation, the visit is part of ongoing coordination with Afrin’s local administration to facilitate the return of residents currently displaced in Hasakah governorate. The delegation aims to ensure that the process proceeds in an organized manner and that security measures are in place to support the safe and stable return of families to their communities.

This visit comes amid broader efforts by local authorities and security forces in northern Syria to stabilize areas affected by conflict, assist displaced populations, and support governance initiatives led by regional administrations. The collaboration between Syrian Internal Security and Asayish units reflects ongoing coordination to maintain safety, security, and order during the return process.
