QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) – The United States Central Command (CENTCOM) announced on Saturday that American forces carried out 10 airstrikes against Islamic State (ISIS) targets in Syria during February, hitting more than 30 sites linked to the group.
In an official statement, CENTCOM said, “Ten strikes were conducted against more than 30 ISIS targets between February 3 and February 12.”
According to the statement, the strikes targeted ISIS infrastructure and weapons storage facilities as part of ongoing efforts to disrupt the group’s operational capabilities and prevent its resurgence.
The US military did not specify the exact locations of the targeted sites or provide details regarding casualties or material losses resulting from the operations.
The Kurdish-led Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), backed by the US-led Global Coalition, have played a central role in ground operations against ISIS across northeast Syria, conducting regular security campaigns and raids targeting suspected cells and networks.
CENTCOM reaffirmed that the strikes were conducted to degrade ISIS capabilities and ensure continued pressure on the organization, which continues to attempt regrouping through clandestine networks.
