Syrian government forces to enter Qamishli under deal with SDF

QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) – Security forces of the Syrian transitional government are set to enter the city of Qamishli, northeastern Syria, on Tuesday, following their entry into Hasakah on Monday.

A security source told North Press that around 100 government security personnel and officers will enter Qamishli in coordination with the command of the Internal Security Forces (Asayish).

On Monday, government security forces entered Hasakah city in northeastern Syria in line with the agreement reached between the Syrian transitional government and the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF).

The source said the government forces will advance toward Qamishli from the direction of the village of Tel Brak and that preparations are underway for their entry through the city’s western gate.

Meanwhile, the Asayish imposed a curfew in Qamishli as part of preparations to implement the agreement signed between the Syrian government and the SDF.
