QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) I– Iraqi President Abdullatif Jamal Rashid welcomed on Saturday the recent agreement between the Syrian government and the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), describing it as “important for regional stability.”
In a statement, Rashid said, “I welcome the agreement between the Syrian government and the Syrian Democratic Forces to resolve the conflict peacefully and end the dispute, which we consider important for the stability of the region.”
He emphasized that the practical implementation of the agreement “will be the beginning of ensuring the rights of all nationalities and communities in the permanent constitution.”
Rashid added, “We hope that this agreement serves as a foundation to consolidate peace, stability, and development, and to end the war and destruction across all areas of Syria.”
The statement highlights Iraq’s supportive stance toward efforts that promote dialogue and cooperation between Syrian authorities and local security forces, including the SDF, which plays a key role in maintaining stability and governance in northeast Syria.
