Asayish say Turkish drones back assault on Kurdish neighborhood in Aleppo
ALEPPO, Syria (North Press) – The Internal Security Forces (Asayish) in the Kurdish neighborhoods of Aleppo city, northwestern Syria, announced on Saturday that Turkish Bayraktar drones are providing support to the ongoing assault on the Sheikh Maqsoud neighborhood in the city.
In a statement, the Asayish said their forces have continued resistance for a fifth consecutive day against attacks carried out by “militias affiliated with the Damascus government, with backing and support from Turkish Bayraktar drones.”
The statement said Sheikh Maqsoud neighborhood has been witnessing intense and continuous clashes, which resulted in the destruction of two armored vehicles belonging to “factions affiliated with the Syrian Ministry of Defense.”
According to the Asayish, forces of the Syrian transitional government have also continued to target Khaled Fajr Hospital, which they said is crowded with wounded civilians.
The Asayish warned that the continued shelling of Khaled Fajr Hospital poses a serious threat to civilians and medical personnel, adding that the attacks are being carried out with direct support from Turkish drones.
