Asayish report drone strike wounds civilians, shelling hits Aleppo homes

QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) – The Internal Security Forces (Asayish) in Aleppo said on Thursday that two civilians were wounded in a drone strike carried out by factions affiliated with the Ministry of Defense of Syria’s transitional government.

In a statement, Asayish reported that the civilians were injured after being targeted by an unmanned aerial vehicle in the Bani Zaid neighborhood of Aleppo.

The force added that the strike directly hit the civilians, while ambulance teams were unable to evacuate them to hospital due to continued shelling and the targeting of the area.

The Asayish added that factions linked to the Syrian Ministry of Defense shelled residential neighborhoods in the eastern section of Sheikh Maqsoud using tanks and Grad rockets, causing material damage to civilian property.

The statement said the attacks were part of an ongoing escalation affecting populated areas of the city, raising concerns over the safety of civilians and the ability of medical teams to operate amid continued hostilities.
