AANES delegation may meet Syrian government within days

QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) – Yasser al-Suleiman, spokesperson for the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria (AANES) negotiation delegation with the Syrian government, announced on Tuesday that a meeting between the two sides may take place before January 10. The step is expected to lead to the practical activation of previous agreements.

Al-Suleiman explained that the earlier postponement was due to purely technical reasons, stressing that the AANES remains determined to hold the meeting soon and is committed to overcoming obstacles.

He noted that the upcoming meeting aims to address challenges and establish common ground, contributing to the implementation of the March 10 agreement in practice and reflecting positive outcomes for all Syrians.

Speaking to North Press, al-Suleiman added, “We hope the meeting will bring good for all Syrians and contribute to starting the process of activating the agreement in a practical way.”

Syrian public opinion is closely watching the anticipated meeting as an opportunity to revive dialogue between the AANES and the Syrian government. Many hope it will result in tangible steps toward strengthening stability and overcoming the technical and political obstacles that hindered previous sessions.
