Israeli forces advance in Syria’s Quneitra
QUNEITRA, Syria (North Press) – Israeli forces advanced on Saturday toward the village of al-Samdaniya al-Sharqiya in the Quneitra countryside, southern Syria, deploying heavy military vehicles amid heightened alert along the border with the Golan Heights.
Local sources told North Press that the Israeli forces moved on the eastern outskirts of al-Samdaniya, supported by reconnaissance aircraft flying over the area.
According to the same sources, the Israeli patrol consisted of eight vehicles, two tanks, and a military bulldozer.
The incursion followed the establishment of a temporary Israeli checkpoint in the village on Friday, where soldiers inspected identification papers and searched civilians passing through.
Two days earlier, Israeli forces had also arrested two individuals in the western countryside of Daraa, southern Syria, in a separate operation.
