Gunmen kill SDF fighter, civilian in separate attacks in Deir ez-Zor

DEIR EZ-ZOR, Syria (North Press) – Two people, including a fighter of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), were killed on Friday in two separate incidents in the eastern countryside of Deir ez-Zor, eastern Syria.

A local source told North Press that unidentified gunmen on a motorcycle opened fire on 27-year-old Ahmad Hammoud al-Aboud in front of his house in the town of al-Mayadin.

The source added that al-Aboud, an SDF fighter who was on leave at the time of the attack, sustained critical injuries and died hours later.

In a separate incident, unidentified gunmen riding a motorcycle shot and killed Nawras al-Ashir, a generator technician, while he was traveling along a main road in the village of al-Dwair, east of Deir ez-Zor.

Both attacks come amid an increase in assassinations and security incidents targeting civilians and military personnel in the region.
