Landmine explosion kills one, injures two in Deir ez-Zor Countryside

QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) – A man was killed and two others were injured on Friday when a landmine exploded in their vehicle on the Palmyra–Deir ez-Zor road, in southern Deir ez-Zor countryside.

A North Press correspondent in Deir ez-Zor said the explosion was caused by a landmine left behind by the former Syrian government forces, which detonated as the vehicle passed near the Kabajeb area, south of the governorate.

The blast struck a cargo truck loaded with animal fodder, killing one person instantly and seriously wounding two others, who were later transferred to a local medical center for treatment.

Deir ez-Zor continues to record frequent incidents caused by war remnants, posing persistent risks to civilians and local workers moving through agricultural and desert routes.
