New batch of Syrian refugees returns from Lebanon
DAMASCUS, Syria (North Press) – A new group of Syrian refugees returned on Wednesday from Lebanon to their hometowns as part of a voluntary repatriation program organized by the Lebanese and Syrian governments with the support of the UN Refugee Agency.
The fifth batch of returnees included 406 people who crossed through the Jdeidet Yabous border with transportation and assistance provided by the authorities. Earlier, on September 11, around 300 refugees had returned through the same border.
The program aims to facilitate safe and voluntary returns while coordinating efforts between the two governments and international agencies.
