ISIS carried out 25 attacks in NE Syria in September, leaving 40 casualties
DAMASCUS, Syria (North Press) – The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR) reported on Thursday that the Islamic State (ISIS) carried out 25 attacks in the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria (AANES) areas during September.
According to SOHR, these attacks resulted in 40 casualties, including both civilians and military personnel. The group’s tactics varied, encompassing bombings, ambushes, and targeted assassinations.
Deir ez-Zor’s countryside was the most affected, accounting for 23 of the attacks, while Raqqa and Hasakah each witnessed one incident.
In comparison, the SOHR recorded 27 ISIS attacks in August, which caused 29 deaths and injuries.
Meanwhile, the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) recently reported that ISIS has carried out 153 attacks across Northeast Syria since the fall of the former Syrian regime, up to September 20, 2025.
