Syrian aviation delegation launches Deir ez-Zor airport rehabilitation
DEIR EZ-ZOR, Syria (North Press) – A delegation from the Civil Aviation Authority of the Syrian transitional government arrived on Monday at Deir ez-Zor International Airport in eastern Syria to launch a project for its rehabilitation and development.
According to the Deir ez-Zor Governorate’s official Telegram channel, “a private plane carrying a delegation from the Civil Aviation Authority and Air Transport arrived at Deir ez-Zor Civil Airport today as part of an official visit to initiate the rehabilitation and development process.”
The delegation included Abdul Bari al-Saaj, Assistant Head of the Authority, and Ahmad al-Saleh, Director of Engineering Affairs. They were received by Deir ez-Zor Governor Ghassan al-Sayed Ahmad, along with several local officials and technical staff from the airport.
The statement noted that the visit is part of the Authority’s broader plan to rehabilitate airport infrastructure across eastern Syria, with the goal of enhancing the operational capacity of Deir ez-Zor Civil Airport to better serve air traffic and contribute to the governorate’s economic and service development.
