Arab states and Turkey condemn Israeli incursions into Syrian territory

DAMASCUS, Syria (North Press) – Jordan, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, and Turkey have issued strong condemnations of recent Israeli military incursions into Syrian territory, calling for respect for Syria’s sovereignty and regional stability. The statements follow reports of Israeli airstrikes and limited ground operations in northern and southern regions of Syria over the past week.
Jordan’s Foreign Ministry described the incursions as a “violation of international law and Syria’s territorial integrity,” emphasizing the need for a peaceful resolution to conflicts in the region. Kuwait’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs echoed this stance, highlighting that attacks against Syria undermine security and threaten civilians.
Saudi Arabia also criticized the Israeli actions, stating in an official press release that they “contradict international norms” and urged the international community to ensure respect for Syria’s borders. Turkey similarly condemned the incursions, emphasizing that unilateral military operations risk escalating tensions and destabilizing the broader region.
These statements come amid a backdrop of heightened Israeli military activity along Syria’s borders, primarily targeting areas where Iranian-backed groups and other armed factions operate. The Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria (AANES) and the Kurdish-led Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) have maintained security in northern regions, preventing wider conflict escalation despite repeated provocations.
Historically, Israel has conducted airstrikes in Syria citing security threats, while Damascus and regional allies consistently call for the defense of Syrian sovereignty.
