AANES ready for all negotiated solutions with Syrian government – SDC
RAQQA, Syria (North Press) – Hassan Mohammed Ali, Public Relations Officer of the Syrian Democratic Council (SDC), told North Press on Thursday that the delegation from northeastern Syria negotiating with Damascus is prepared for all solutions that serve the interests of the Syrian people, stressing that any breakthrough in the talks requires a shared vision for Syria’s future.
“Within this framework, a role must be played that could lead to an imminent breakthrough. Now, the ball is in Damascus’ court,” he said.
Ali explained that, “If Damascus is ready to accept negotiations for the sake of the Syrian people and to reach meaningful understandings, that will be possible. But if the approach is with a purely centralized mindset, this will obstruct the course of negotiations.”
He noted that “Therefore, I believe that a breakthrough in the negotiations requires understanding the current situation. The conduct adopted by the transitional authority in Damascus, the transitional government is creating problems rather than solving them. What we have seen in different parts of Syria shows that this approach does not lead to solutions.”
The SDC official emphasized that building a new Syria demands adopting new approaches. He stated that the breakthrough depends on both sides.
According to Ali, the delegation from northeastern Syria is offering every possible option to reach a solution that meets the aspirations of all Syrians, across their diverse ethnic and religious components—a solution that fosters civil peace, reconciliation, and stability, and reinforces the vision of Syria as a shared homeland for all.
Ali added that the region cannot endure another war or new waves of displacement. The reconstruction process requires joint efforts that include all its components, and the countries sponsoring the negotiations are fully aware of this reality, he noted.
