Unknown gunmen shoot school principal to death in Deir ez-Zor
DEIR EZ-ZOR, Syria (North Press) – A school principal was killed on Saturday by unidentified gunmen in the town of al-Sha’fah, located in the eastern countryside of Deir ez-Zor, eastern Syria.
A local source from the town told North Press that two armed individuals on a motorcycle opened fire with a machine gun on Saleh al-Nuheer near his home in al-Sha’fah, east of Deir ez-Zor.
The source said that al-Nuheer was seriously injured in the attack and was transported to hospitals in Hajin for treatment, but later died from his wounds.
The source confirmed that al-Nuheer served as the principal of an elementary school in al-Sha’fah, operating under the Education Board of the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria (AANES) in Deir ez-Zor.
