Russia reaffirms support for Syrian stability, inclusive governance

DAMASCUS, Syria (North Press) – Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov reaffirmed on Thursday Moscow’s continued support for Syria’s stabilization efforts during a joint press conference with his Syrian counterpart, Asaad al-Shaibani, held in Moscow.

Lavrov expressed hope that the Syrian people can overcome the current challenges, showing optimism that the situation in Syria will soon return to normal.

He stressed the importance of inclusive governance in Syria, stating that they support the participation of all groups in government, including Kurdish representation.

Lavrov further expressed support for peacekeeping arrangements along the Syrian-Israeli border and confirmed that the discussions also covered the status of embassies and the overall situation in Syria.

The Russian diplomat also reiterated his country’s opposition to international sanctions on Syria, calling for their removal.
