Blast at ammunition depot kills 5, injures dozens in Idlib
IDLIB, Syria (North Press) – At least five people were killed on Thursday and several others injured following a massive explosion at an ammunition depot in Idlib countryside, northwestern Syria, according to initial reports.
A local source told North Press that a powerful explosion shook the town of Maarrat Misrin, north of Idlib, adding that it was caused by the detonation of an ammunition depot.
The blast killed five individuals and left dozens injured, the source said, noting that several people remain trapped under the rubble as rescue operations continue.
Meanwhile, various media outlets reported that the explosion may have been the result of an Israeli airstrike targeting an ammunition depot operated by foreign forces in the area.
