Syria’s al-Sharaa receives report on violence against Alawites

DAMASCUS, Syria (North Press) – Syrian Transitional President Ahmad al-Sharaa received on Sunday the final report from the Independent Committee for Investigation regarding the violence against Alawites that took place along the Syrian coast in March.

In the aftermath of the violence, the Syrian Presidency announced the formation of the Committee to investigate and uncover the circumstances surrounding the events. On April 10, the committee’s mandate was extended by three months to allow for the completion of its work.

In a statement issued by the Presidency, it was confirmed that al-Sharaa had officially received the full findings of the committee.

The Presidency emphasized that the formation of the committee reflects Syria’s commitment to a future where violations and attempts to obscure the truth have no place—whether related to the coast or other incidents across the country.

The Presidency requested that the National Committee holds a press conference to present its work and main conclusions.
