Unknown gunmen kill 2 civilians in separate attacks in Deir ez-Zor
DEIR EZ-ZOR, Syria (North Press) – Unidentified gunmen killed on Saturday evening two civilians in two separate attacks in the countryside of Deir ez-Zor, eastern Syria.
A local source from the village of al-Jnenah, north of Deir ez-Zor, told North Press that unidentified gunmen on a motorcycle opened fire with a machine gun on Khaled al-Ali while he was traveling on the main road to the town of Abu Khashab, north of Deir ez-Zor.
Al-Ali died instantly, the source added. Witnesses near the scene said that the attackers shouted pro-ISIS slogans following the assassination.
In a separate incident, two gunmen on a motorcycle shot and killed Elias al-Walid near his home in the town of al-Heri.
Sources confirmed that both victims were civilians with no affiliation to any political or military group.
