Israeli airstrikes kill senior Syrian officers in Syria’s Daraa
DARAA, Syria (North Press) – A government source told North Press on Wednesday that Israeli airstrikes on the countryside of Daraa, southern Syria, resulted in the killing of several senior officers from Syrian government forces.
The strikes, which began on Tuesday, have intensified throughout Wednesday, targeting military and security personnel affiliated with the Syrian government across various locations in southern Syria.
According to the source, the officers were killed in a strike that hit the administrative border area between eastern countryside of Daraa and southwestern countryside of Suwayda.
Among those confirmed killed were Abu Yaqub Mahja, commander of the elite forces; Brigadier General Abu Omar, head of the artillery regiment; and Abdel Fattah Al-Zoubi, the director of the Bosra district.
