Civil Defense teams uncover mass grave in Syria’s Hama
HAMA, Syria (North Press) – Syrian Civil Defense teams uncovered on Tuesday a mass grave in the northern countryside of Hama, central-west Syria.
According to the state-run al-Ikhbariya news channel, the remains of 15 individuals—including a child and a woman—were discovered inside a well in the town of Ma’an, located in northeastern Hama. The victims were reportedly executed by forces of the al-Assad regime.
The discovery followed a tip from a local resident who alerted the relevant authorities.
Hama’s Attorney General, Ayman Othman, and Maher Al-Marai, a leader of security forces, visited the scene to launch an official investigation.
Civil Defense teams are currently working to extract the bodies from the well. The remains will be transferred to forensic medical authorities to identify the victims and determine the causes of death.
