5 Asayish members killed in armed attack in Syria’s Hasakah
HASAKAH, Syria (North Press) – The Internal Security Forces of North and East Syria (Asayish) announced on Tuesday that five of their members were killed in an armed attack targeting one of their security checkpoints in the town of Shaddadi, located in the southern countryside of Hasakah, northeastern Syria.
In an official statement, the Asayish reported that “terrorist groups carried out coordinated attacks on two of our positions in the city of Tabqa, resulting in the injury of two personnel.”
The statement further revealed that a separate, “treacherous attack” occurred on Sunday in Shaddadi, leading to the death of five members of the force.
“These actions, aimed at destabilizing the region and spreading chaos, will not deter us from fulfilling our duty to protect our communities and maintain public security,” the statement affirmed.
It also accused the perpetrators of serving hostile agendas that threaten the safety and stability of North and East Syria.
The Asayish underscored their commitment to continuing operations using all available means to foil such plans and safeguard the security of residents across the region.
The General Command of the Asayish also noted that extensive investigations have been launched to identify the attackers and pursue those supporting them.
