Security forces arrest 11 individuals in Syria’s Homs
HOMS, Syria (North Press) – The General Security forces arrested on Saturday 11 individuals during a limited security operation in the city of Homs, central Syria, on charges related to arming and supporting individuals affiliated with the al-Assad regime.
Youssef Zada, one of the operation’s supervisors, told North Press that the arrests were carried out through “precise and targeted raids conducted by security units on specific locations within the al-Muhajireen and Armen neighborhoods.”
Zada stated that the operation was initiated by a directive from the General Security in Homs and is part of “proactive security efforts aimed at preventing the reactivation of illegal armed cells.”
He added that during the campaign, “nine main and secondary roads within the target areas were sealed off. The operation proceeded without incident or armed confrontation, and a heightened security presence remained in place throughout the evening until the campaign concluded.”
No details were provided regarding the identities of those arrested or their legal status following detention.
