Israeli patrol arrests six, including child, in southern Syria
QUNEITRA, Syria (North Press) – An Israeli military patrol arrested on Monday six individuals, including a child, during a new incursion into the southern countryside of Quneitra, southern Syria.
A local source told North Press that Israeli forces raided several homes in the village of al-Dawayeh al-Kabeera and detained Ahmad Abd al-Hamid al-Karyan, Adnan Abd al-Hamid al-Karyan, Mizer al-Hutaimi, Ahmad al-Hutaimi, Imad al-Hutaimi, and a child, Shadi Marwan al-Karyan.
The source added that the detainees were taken to an undisclosed location, and no official explanation for their arrest has been provided thus far.
The source noted that Ahmad Abd al-Hamid al-Karyan had previously been imprisoned for several years in Saydnaya prison due to his support for the Syrian revolution. He was released following the fall of the al-Assad regime.
The arrests come amid a series of repeated Israeli incursions into southern Quneitra, where Israeli forces have reportedly been conducting security operations targeting what they describe as “hostile activity” in the area.
