Israeli army captures Iran-linked cell in southern Syria

QUNEITRA, Syria (North Press) – The Israeli military announced on Wednesday that its forces carried out a special operation in southern Syria, resulting in the arrest of a cell allegedly operating on behalf of Iran.

Israeli military spokesperson Avichay Adraee said troops from the Brigade 474 of the IDF’s Division 210 conducted the operation in the areas of Umm al-Luqas and Ain al-Basali, in coordination with field investigators from Unit 504, the IDF’s intelligence division responsible for human intelligence operations.

Adraee stated on his official X in Arabic that the operation was based on intelligence gathered over recent weeks during ongoing investigations.

During the raid, Israeli forces reportedly discovered various weapons and hand grenades in the area where the cell members were apprehended.
