Asayish arrest 2 men involved in drug use, trafficking in north Syria

RAQQA, Syria (North Press) – The Internal Security Forces of North and East Syria (Asayish) announced on Monday the arrest of two individuals involved in the use and distribution of narcotics in Kobani, northern Syria.

In a statement, Asayish said that based on intelligence from their drug enforcement unit, their forces arrested two individuals on Sunday for drug use and trafficking.

The statement added that the individuals were found in possession of narcotics, including eight grams of crystal meth, four grams of hashish paste, four narcotic pills, and drug paraphernalia.

Additionally, authorities discovered counterfeit currency in the suspects’ possession, including one million Syrian pounds in fake 5,000-pound notes and 100 counterfeit U.S. dollars.

Last week, Asayish announced the arrest of six individuals involved in drug promotion in the city of Raqqa.
