Asayish arrest 6 individuals for drug promotion in Raqqa

RAQQA, Syria (North Press) – The Internal Security Forces of North and East Syria (Asayish) announced on Tuesday the arrest of six individuals involved in promoting narcotics within the city of Raqqa, northern Syria.

In a statement published on its official website, the Asayish said, “Our specialized units successfully apprehended six suspects last Saturday in Raqqa as part of ongoing efforts to combat drug trafficking and distribution.”

The operation led to the seizure of various narcotics, including 39.92 grams of crystal meth, 1,000 captagon pills, 13 additional narcotic pills, and three ampoules used for drug consumption.

Additionally, authorities confiscated three glass pipes suspected to be used for drug intake, nine butane gas canisters, six surveillance cameras found in the suspects’ possession.

The statement added that investigations are ongoing to uncover further links in the drug distribution network.
