Asayish arrest 6 individuals involved in drug trafficking in NE Syria

QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) –
The Internal Security Forces of North and East Syria (Asayish) announced on Monday the arrest of six individuals involved in the trafficking of narcotics and unlicensed weapons in the northeastern Syrian cities of Qamishli and Hasakah.

In an official statement, the Asayish reported the seizure of 2.388 kilograms of processed hashish and 333 narcotic pills—medications with psychoactive effects that are strictly regulated and require medical supervision—in the city of Qamishli. Three individuals were arrested during the operation.

In a separate operation in Hasakah, the Asayish forces apprehended another three suspects, identified as members of a criminal network engaged in the trafficking of illegal drugs and unlicensed firearms.

The Asayish confiscated quantities of hashish, captagon pills, and a cache of unregistered weapons.
