Asayish capture 79 individuals during security campaign in Deir ez-Zor
DEIR EZ-ZOR, Syria (North Press) – The Internal Security Forces of North and East Syria (Asayish) announced on Wednesday the results of their ongoing security campaign against remnants of the former regime and Islamic State (ISIS) cells in Deir ez-Zor’s countryside, eastern Syria.
The campaign, conducted in coordination with the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) and the U.S.-led Global Coalition, resulted in the capture of 79 individuals accused of destabilizing security, and large quantities of various weapons and ammunition were seized.
The Asayish said that over the past 15 days they have been conducting a wide-ranging security operation in the Deir ez-Zor countryside.
The statement added that the campaign specifically targeted “remnants of the collapsed Syrian regime and its affiliates, as well as ISIS sleeper cells.”
