DAMASCUS, Syria (North Press) – The Iraqi intelligence agency announced on Tuesday the arrest of three Islamic State (ISIS) members in Salah al-Din Governorate in central Iraq.
In a statement, the agency said that specialized counterterrorism units in Salah al-Din conducted a high-level operation based on precise intelligence and field surveillance, leading to the arrest of three suspects operating within ISIS’s military office.
During interrogation, the suspects confessed to carrying out multiple terrorist attacks in the governorate, including assaults on security forces, and to serving as informants for ISIS, the statement added.
The agency emphasized that this operation is part of its ongoing efforts to eradicate the remnants of ISIS.
