UN delegation visits Syria’s Quneitra following Israeli withdrawal
DAMASCUS, Syria (North Press) – Syrian media reported on Tuesday that a United Nations delegation arrived in Quneitra Governorate, southern Syria, following the withdrawal of Israeli forces from the area.
The UN delegation’s visit included an inspection of both the city and the countryside of Quneitra in the wake of the Israeli forces’ withdrawal.
On Sunday, the Israeli forces vacated the governorate’s administrative buildings and courthouse—locations they had occupied after the collapse of the former Syrian regime.
Israel also conducted a partial withdrawal from the vicinity of the al-Mantera Dam and the town of al-Qahtaniyah in the countryside of Quneitra.
Its arrival coincided with that of local civil defense teams, who have already begun service operations in the region, according to media reports.
