Landmine blast kills two brothers in Deir ez-Zor

DEIR EZ-ZOR, Syria (North Press) – A landmine explosion killed on Monday two brothers and injured others in the countryside of Deir ez-Zor, eastern Syria.

A local source from the village of al-Boleel in Deir ez-Zor’s eastern countryside told North Press that the landmine exploded as a civilian vehicle passed near the outskirts of the desert.

The blast claimed the lives of Fayez and Muhammad al-Hassawi, while five others in the vehicle sustained injuries, the source added.

In a separate incident on the same day, a young man was injured, and thirty of his livestock were killed after they wandered into a minefield in the al-Quriyah desert, also in eastern Deir ez-Zor.
