Turkish attack puts main water station in Kobani out of service – AANES

KOBANI, Syria (North Press) – Officials of the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria (AANES) said on Monday that Turkish warplanes targeted the main water station in the city of Kobani, northern Syria, which supplies drinking water to the city and its surrounding countryside, rendering it inoperable.

The Water Directorate in Kobani stated that the station’s shutdown has deprived approximately 200,000 people of access to drinking water.

The statement condemned the attack as a “war crime” and called on human rights organizations, the United Nations, and the Global Coalition to take a clear stance and fulfill their moral and humanitarian responsibilities in response to such violations.

The Water Directorate strongly denounced Turkey and its affiliated armed factions, aka the Syrian National Army (SNA) for these actions, emphasizing that Turkish forces have escalated their attacks in the region, committing massacres and systematically targeting vital infrastructure.
