SDF kills 17 Turkish-backed SNA militants in Syria’s Manbij

QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) – The Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) announced on Saturday that 17 militants from Turkish-backed armed factions, aka the Syrian National Army (SNA), were killed, and others injured, during clashes near the Tishrin Dam in the countryside of Manbij, northern Syria.

In a statement, the SDF revealed that its forces delivered substantial blows to the factions across several fronts in northern and eastern Syria, particularly at the Tishrin Dam.

On Dec. 24, the SDF said their forces thwarted an attack by these factions on the Tishrin Dam, resulting in significant casualties, with dozens of SNA militants killed or wounded.

The statement detailed that at 01:00 PM on Friday, SNA militants launched a coordinated attack on SDF forces from two directions.

The SDF said their forces repelled the assault, killing 17 militants, including Abu Fayez, the leader of the Northern Brigade of the SNA factions, and injuring 40 others.

Additionally, the SDF reported destroying four military vehicles that had been concealed among residential buildings. According to the statement, the SDF forces also attacked another group of fighters in the area.
