SDF kills 5 Turkish-backed SNA militants in Syria’s Manbij

MANBIJ, Syria (North Press) – The Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) announced on Wednesday that five militants of Turkish-backed armed factions, aka the Syrian National Army (SNA), were killed and another was injured during clashes in the eastern countryside of Manbij, northern Syria.

In a statement, the SDF said that overnight clashes led to the death of five Turkish-backed militants and the injury of one. The SDF also confirmed the destruction of three vehicles belonging to these factions and the seizure of weapons and ammunition.

The SDF, in coordination with the Manbij Military Council, continues to engage in intense battles against SNA factions in the countryside of Manbij and near the Tishrin Dam.

Meanwhile, Turkish artillery shelled areas near the Qaraqozaq Bridge and Sirrin airbase, causing material damage, according to the SDF.

Additionally, a Turkish drone strike targeted a site of the Internal Security Forces of North and East Syria (Asayish) in the town of Zirgan (Abu Rasin), resulting in the death of one member.

The SDF also noted that one SDF fighter was killed, and four Asayish members sustained injuries due to ongoing hostilities.
