Pentagon reaffirms focus on defeating ISIS amid talks with Turkey  

HASAKAH, Syria (North Press) – The U.S. Department of Defense announced on Wednesday that it is holding discussions with Turkish officials about the role of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) in preventing the resurgence of the Islamic State (ISIS).

In a statement, the Pentagon emphasized the importance of maintaining close ties with Turkey and affirming its commitment to open communication regarding the evolving situation in Syria.

Ongoing talks with Turkey aim to ensure that U.S. operations against ISIS remain unaffected. The Pentagon stressed that there is no change in the status of the American forces, underscoring the priority of avoiding any disruptions to its mission in the region.

The Department of Defense reiterated that its military presence in Syria is solely focused on defeating ISIS, adding that they all share a vested interest in enabling the Syrian people to build better lives.
