Israeli airstrikes target military sites in Syria’s Tartus

DAMASCUS, Syria (North Press) – Israeli warplanes launched on Monday airstrikes on military sites in Tartus on the Syrian coast, resulting in massive explosions.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR) said that Israeli airstrikes targeted missile bases at Camp 107 in the Zama area, as well as arms depots in the countryside of Tartus.

On Dec. 14, Israeli forces carried out over 61 airstrikes across Syria within a span of less than five hours, marking a significant escalation in its operations since the fall of Bashar al-Assad’s regime.

Local and Arab media also reported powerful explosions in Tartus following the strikes. In addition, Israel carried out an attack on radar installations at the Deir ez-Zor military airbase, according to the observatory.

Further strikes were reported in the Qalamoun mountains northeast of Damascus early Sunday, where arms depots were targeted, triggering loud explosions heard across the region.

Former Israeli officials have stated that Israel has conducted approximately 500 airstrikes on various targets in Syria since the fall of Bashar al-Assad’s regime, highlighting the scope of its ongoing military campaign.
