Turkish-backed SNA factions kill woman in Syria’s Kobani
KOBANI, Syria (North Press) – A woman was killed and three others injured on Wednesday by gunfire from the Turkish-backed armed opposition factions, aka the Syrian National Army (SNA) near the Qaraqozaq Bridge, southwest of Kobani in northern Syria.
Saleh Barkal said that his wife, Zahida Ahmed Bozan, 50, was killed instantly when their car, traveling from Kobani to Manbij, came under fire from SNA factions controlling the opposite side of the bridge.
He added that his grandson, Jwan Barkal, 8, sustained a gunshot wound to his shoulder and was transferred to Kobani Hospital for treatment.
Another relative, Zuleikha Muhammad, was shot in the waist, while the family’s son-in-law, Muhammad Othman, suffered minor injuries in the attack.
A doctor at Kobani Hospital told North Press that the injured individuals are in stable condition and remain under medical observation.
Barkal explained that the family had been attempting to return to their home in Manbij when they were targeted immediately after crossing the Qaraqozaq Bridge.
It is worth noting that dozens of Kurdish families who once resided in Manbij were displaced to Kobani following the city’s capture by the SNA factions.
