Airstrikes kill, injure militants in Deir ez-Zor
DEIR EZ-ZOR, Syria (North Press) – Unknown warplanes carried out late on Sunday several airstrikes in various areas of the Deir ez-Zor countryside, eastern Syria, resulting in casualties and injuries.
A local source from the town of Abu Kamal said that the aircraft conducted three airstrikes on positions of armed men in civilian clothing near the Syrian-Iraqi border at the al-Sikak crossing and the al-Qaim border crossing, which resulted in the death and injury of a number of them.
He added that another strike targeted a building on the outskirts of the town’s desert, and the building was completely empty of militants.
Another source from al-Mayadin said that a strike targeted the National Defense Forces (NDF), who were setting up a mortar near the al-Tamo neighborhood in al-Mayadin.
He added that the strike resulted in the death of two militants, and the aircraft carried out another strike on the outskirts of the desert with no further information available about it.
