Unidentified airstrike target SNA posts in Syria’s Manbij

MANBIJ, Syria (North Press) – The Manbij Military Council, a component of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) said early on Saturday that an unidentified airstrike targeted a position held by Turkish-backed armed opposition factions, aka the Syrian National Army (SNA), in the countryside of Manbij in northern Syria.

In a statement, the Council confirmed casualties resulting from the airstrike on the village of Tel al-Hawa near Manbij but denied that areas under its control had been targeted. Media reports had circulated the previous evening, suggesting that SNA factions were initiating an offensive on Manbij.

The Council issued a follow-up statement hours later, revealing that its forces successfully repelled an infiltration attempt by SNA factions in the village of Tel Aswad, south of Manbij, at around 02:00 AM.

It further stated that the Council retaliated by targeting SNA posts near the city of al-Bab, inflicting casualties among their ranks.

The Council also announced the loss of three of its fighters during the clashes.

Additionally, it criticized the dissemination of outdated footage by platforms affiliated with opposition, which purportedly showed military gatherings around Manbij. The council dismissed these claims as part of a “media warfare” campaign, emphasizing that no such gatherings were occurring in the vicinity of the city.
