Russian, government airstrikes result in 20 casualties in Idlib

IDLIB, Syria (North Press) – Russian and Syrian government forces conducted on Sunday airstrikes on the city center of Idlib in northwestern Syria resulting in 20 casualties at least.

North Press correspondent said that four warplanes alternated in bombing residential neighborhoods within Idlib city.   

The correspondent also noted that joint Syrian and Russian warplanes carried out additional airstrikes on neighborhoods in Aleppo.

The Civil Defense organization in Idlib reported that the airstrikes in the city left one person dead and 20 others injured. No further details regarding the identities or conditions of the casualties were provided.

An opposition leader told North Press that the Russian warplanes and those of the Syrian government forces conducted a retaliatory campaign against residential neighborhoods in Idlib and Aleppo.
